Sources close to the Akwa Ibom governor, Emmanuel Udom report that shortly after casting his vote in the Gubernatorial elections in the state, the Governor has expressed satisfaction with the conduct so far, even as he explains that regardless of what happens in the polls, the people of Akwa Ibom will never forget his 4 year tenure as governor.
“I am certain that we have delivered good governance to the people of Akwa Ibom to the best of our abilities, and even if I lose this election, our strides will still linger in the sights and minds of Akwa Ibom indigenes,” he reportedly said.
“Our goverment in the last four years has been one of the best in the region, and we have done our best to move Akwa Ibom to higher heights. If this is the end of the road for us, our place is already written in history,” he expressed.
The Governor was also quoted as saying that he cannot wait to get back to his brilliant banking career after his successful 4-year as governor of the oil-rich Akwa Ibom State if he losses.
