Construction work on the over six kilometer Nkwo-Enugwu-Ukwu-Urukpalaeke-Obeaguosile by Enugu-Onitsha expressed road is ninety percent completed.
The site engineer stated this while explaining the extent of work on the road.
ABS Works correspondent Ngozi Obileri monitored pace and quality of work on the project.
When ABS arrived the site, men of the construction firm handling the project were seen stone pitching some of the culverts while stone pitching of some of the culverts have been completed.
The road has seven culverts, four bux culverts, a round about, and has a spur to Nwafia.
The road has been asphalted from Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu axis of the road through Urukpalaeke , Obeagu Osile up to about half kilometer towards the Enugu – Onitsha express road where one lane of the road has been asphalted.
Meanwhile, the road has become motorable up to express road.
Speaking to the ABS , an Engineer at the site Mr Sunday Adejila, said the road started in 2014 is almost completed.
Engineer Adejila appreciated government for being consistent in the provision of funds needed to execute the project.
A road user Mr Friday Eze expressed happiness over the state of the road now as he said that the road has eased traffic from Amawbia to Enuwgu-Ukwu as anybody going to Abagana, Ifitedunu ,Eziowele among others do not have to pass through Amawbia .
The spur to Nawfia will commence shortly.
